CPSC, Target issue recall of magnetic tic-tac-toe games

UNDATED (WDAM) – Target is recalling thousands of tic-tac-toe games.

The recall involves about 19,000 magnetic tic-tac-toe games sold exclusively at Target stores nationwide from December of 2016 through February of 2017.

The magnets can come off of the game's pieces and pose a choking hazard and a magnetic ingestion hazard to children, the CPSC said.

When two or more magnets are swallowed, they can link together inside the intestines and clamp onto body tissues, causing intestinal obstructions, perforations, sepsis and even death, the CPSC said.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled tic-tac-toe game and return it to any Target store for a full refund.
