PETAL, MS (WDAM) -

Representatives from the Veterans Administration out of Jackson will visit Petal to help area veterans Wednesday.

Veterans and spouses of vets are encouraged to attend the seminar at the Petal Civic Center Wednesday morning at 10.

The VA Outreach Team will help veterans file benefit claims and offer other healthcare services and information.

"We had it a couple of times last year," said Katherine Minyard, program director for the city of Petal. "They'll be here tomorrow and hopefully one more time throughout this year. This is also where the Pine Belt veterans don't have to drive all the way to Jackson to get the assistance that they need, they can come straight here to the Petal Civic Center at 10:00 a.m. and ask the questions or file a claim or check on a claim."

Veterans are reminded to bring discharge paperwork to help with identification.
