HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The winning vibes continued for Southern Miss baseball Tuesday. Fresh off breaking into the top twenty-five the Golden Eagles got a 7-5 win over Mississippi State in Pearl.
The win improved USM's win streak to eight.
The Golden Eagles wasted no time getting on the board, tallying four runs in the first inning. Their lead increased to 7-1 through three innings.
Taylor Braley (2-0) got the win on the mound, allowing five runs on nine hits in seven innings. He struck out four.
USM had seven team hits. Cole Donaldson had two to lead the team.
Now 17-4 overall, the Golden Eagles will begin a three-game series Friday against Marshall.
