HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Hattiesburg residents of Irish or Italian descent, or folks who just wanted to have a good time, gathered along West Fourth Street Saturday morning for a special celebration.
An annual parade, also known as the "Roll and Stroll," was a highlight of the annual Irish-Italian Festival at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
It included The Knights of Columbus and the PCS Pipe Band, along with cadets from Camp Shelby's Youth Challenge Program and several floats.
There were also plenty of green and gold beads thrown for onlookers to catch.
The festival itself, held later in the day, included mass and an evening of music, lots of Irish and Italian food and activities for children.
