HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

A bridge in Hattiesburg has been closed to motorists.

The Broad Street Bridge near Downtown will be closed for at least six to nine month, according to Lamar Rutland, Hattiesburg City Engineer.

Every two years bridges are inspected, and this bridge has been slated for replacement.

The bridge's construction is out of date, and the new bridge will be made of concrete, according to Rutland.

Detour signs are posted for motorists in this area.
