HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - For the third time in four seasons, Southern Miss women's basketball earned a berth in the Women's National Invitation Tournament.
It was announced Monday night that the Lady Eagles will host Arkansas-Little Rock on Wednesday in Reed-Green Coliseum. Game time has yet to be announced.
USM's hopes of making the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1996 were dashed in its 67-56 loss to Western Kentucky in Saturday's Conference USA championship.
But the Lady Eagles' season continues with their sixth appearance in the WNIT.
Southern Miss most recently hosted WNIT games in 2015, eventually falling to Michigan 69-60 in the quarterfinals amid a record Reed-Green crowd.
