HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

2017 will be a busy year for Hattiesburg's African-American Military History Museum.

In February, the museum will honor veterans of the Global War on Terrorism.

And veterans of the Vietnam War will have two different events honoring them during the year.

The museum is located inside the old East 6th Street USO and in March, the museum will celebrate the 75th anniversary of that building.

"We have a 1940's pageant that will be (held) here at this USO," said Latoya Norman, museum manager. "We (will also) have a 1940's car show. We just really want to highlight some of the activities that took place when this building opened March 22nd, 1942."

The museum opened in 2009.
