ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) -

On Friday, Dec. 16, the Ellisville Police Department delivered 45 bikes and toys to Jones County Child Protective Services.

The toy drive was made possible with the help of public donations along with area churches, which provided the bikes for the children.

Ellisville Police Chief Bruce Russell said the department would like to thank everyone involved for making sure the kids have a great Christmas.

“We would like to say a big ‘Thank You’ to all those that helped which included the First Assembly of Ellisville and Strong Tower Worship Center for providing the bikes,” Russell said. “We’re thrilled to see our community come together like this to take care of our children.”

Lora Clifton, deputy court clerk, was instrumental in the success of the toy drive by spending countless hours working on the campaign.
