All-state football teams released (Class 1A-3A)

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The Mississippi Association of Coaches released it's all-state teams. The selections were voted by the state's high school coaches.

Bassfield senior running back Ron Thompson was named Offensive player of the Year for Class 2A. Bay Springs senior defensive end Dashaun Crawford was named Defensive player of the Year.

Lumberton senior running back Dre Coleman was named Offensive player of the Year for Class 1A.

    The Lumberton Board of Aldermen voted to end the suspension of the police chief and fire the city clerk during a special-called meeting Thursday night.  On Monday, WDAM reported that the Lumberton Police Department said Chief Shane Flynt had submitted his resignation and that Phillip Ducksworth was serving as the interim police chief.
