Stephen has worked at WDAM for two years. He was born and raised in Bronx, New York before moving to Mississippi in 2007. He attended Perry Central High school in New Augusta where he graduated at the age of 16.

Stephen attended William Carey University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications.

Stephen started out at WDAM as an intern in 2014. His first day was December 23rd which was the same day as the Columbia tornadoes. Stephen was officially hired in January of 2015 as a production assistant. 

Stephen would work his way up before officially being hired as a reporter in 2016. Stephen is the current anchor and producer of the weekend newscasts.

In his spare time, Stephen is an avid sports fan. He records a weekly sports podcast with other WDAM employees including sports anchor Johnathan Marshall.

Stephen considers his job at WDAM a responsibility and said he’s “proud” to serve the people of the Pine belt.

    The Mississippi Military Department, the Nature Conservancy and several state and federal agencies have teamed up to boost the numbers of endangered gopher tortoises at Camp Shelby and the DeSoto National Forest.

    The Laurel Police Department is searching for a shooting suspect after a Tuesday morning fight.  Police responded to a report of shots fired at the 800 block of South Magnolia at approximately 11:10 a.m., according to a LPD press release. Complainants reported that a fight between several individuals had erupted into gunfire.  The suspect, Lakendall A.
