Person sought in Hub City arson investigation

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Hattiesburg Police are investigation a disturbance that turned into an arson case on Monday in the Hub City.

The incident happened at 1810 Country Club Road, at Bonhomie Apartments according to Hattiesburg Police Lt. Jon Traxler.

“Officers responded to a disturbance, when they arrived they were advised by the victim and witness that a black male suspect had been over causing a disturbance and left,” said Traxler. “They advised a short time later the suspect came back and threw some type of liquid on the front window of the apartment where the disturbance had occurred.”

Traxler said the suspect lite the liquid and then ran from the residence.

“There was minor fire damage caused to the window and blinds,” said Traxler.

Traxler added there were no injuries during the incident and the fire was quickly extinguished.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with any information is encouraged to contact Hattiesburg Police or Metro Crime Stoppers at 601-582-STOP.
