A one-vehicle accident on I-59 sent one man to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries Monday afternoon.
According to MHP officials, a man was driving in the left southbound lane of the interstate near Monroe road exit 73 when a vehicle struck the motorist from behind.
The impact sent the car spinning into the right southbound lane, and the vehicle then flipped three times before landing upside down in the woods. According to officials, the man was able to escape from the back windshield, and a Good Samaritan pulled over and helped him out of the car.
We have no word on the other vehicle at this time. The southbound left lane of the interstate is closed while the vehicle is being towed.
