LAUREL, MS (WDAM) -

The Laurel Police Department needs your help to make a Christmas wish come true for children in the Pine Belt area.
Monetary donations for "Shop with a Cop" program will be used by police officers to buy toys at Walmart, and their shopping trip is Dec. 17.

“I mean, it makes you feel wonderful, I mean, it's what Christmas is really about is being able to give back to the community and especially to children who are in need and there's a lot of people in our community who struggle and those are the people we want to help and make that positive connection with,” LPD Sgt. Michael Reaves said.

For more than 20 years, the Fraternal Order of Police has brought Christmas cheer to hundreds of underprivileged children in the area with their "Shop with a Cop" program.
