County inmate injured in Lamar Co. wreck

LAMAR COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

A Lamar County inmate on work detail was injured after an accident involving a garbage truck. 

The driver of a Buick LeSabre rear ended the garbage truck as it had just stopped to make a pickup in front of a residence. 

According to Lamar County Administrator Jody Waits, the inmate was seriously injured and transported to a local hospital.

MHP and Lamar County deputies responded to the scene.

    The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has issued a Missing/Endangered Child Alert for four-year-old William Holley III of Clarksdale. He was last seen Saturday at approximately 11:45 a.m. near the Hampton Inn and McDonald's on Highway 49 South in Clarksdale, in Coahoma County.
