HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The Hub City Players and Extra Table have teamed up to bring a holiday performance to Hattiesburg that is sure to rock.

Taking the stage of the Historic Saenger Theater on Saturday, December 10 at 7:30 p.m., the concert will feature favorite holiday songs and dances, appropriate for families and children of all ages.

The event is also timed to allow early viewing of the Downtown Victorian Candlelit Christmas either before or following the performance.

One hundred percent of proceeds from the show will be donated to Extra Table. Started in Hattiesburg by chef and restaurateur Robert St. John,

Extra Table is a non-profit organization that has designed a revolutionary system to get new, healthy, shelf-stable food to soup kitchens and food pantries on a monthly basis. Through a unique partnership with Sysco Food Distributors, Extra Table is now delivering food statewide to more than 20 counties and feeding agencies, according to a news release issued by Extra Table.

The Hub City Players, formed in 2012 by local impresarios Mike Lopinto. Tammy Mansfield and Jennifer Hart, will bring their show-stopping singers, dancers, performers and musicians to the Saenger Theater stage, to get the holiday season started. The professional musical theatre company has brought numerous performances to the area, most recently the hit show Rock of Ages during FestivalSouth this past summer.

“Rockin' Christmas is The Hub City Players gift to the city and our special friends at Extra Table” said Lopinto. “We hope this really fun evening of holiday cheer will help scores of people across our area have a merrier Christmas with basic essentials. So please come enjoy and help us help the community we love!”

This iteration features Lopinto and Hart on stage with Jennie Bounds, Jeanna Runnels, Lynn Beach Smith, Michaela Moore, Latisha Hamilton, Daniel Lewis, Joe VanZant, Brandon Hayes, Anthony Barnes, Seth Read, and Michael Boyte with music direction by Mansfield. The Dixie Darlings and dancers from On Your Toes Studio will also add to the festivities. Other special guests including the incredible Hamilton Sisters, Gay Polk Payton-White, David Echevarria, Thomas Jenkins, Larry Panella, Santa and more will make surprise appearances during the show.

Tickets for Rockin’ Christmas are on sale now at www.extratable.org or www.hubcityplayers.com.
