USM falls to South Alabama

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The Southern Miss men's basketball team fell to South Alabama Wednesday 78-55 at Reed Green Coliseum.

Three Golden Eagles reached double figures in scoring, led by Cortez Edwards with 15.

The loss dropped the Golden Eagles to 3-2 overall. Tim Rowe had 12 followed by 10 from Quinton Campbell. Eddie Davis also added eight points and 10 rebounds.

South Alabama was paced by Georgi Boyanov with 23 and 21 from Shaq Calhoun.

They return to the court Sunday at Jackson State. USM follows this up with a visit to Florida State Tuesday.
