1 sought in early morning shooting, burglary in Hub City

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Hattiesburg police are looking for suspect(s) involved in a burglary and shooting that happened early Tuesday morning.

According to HPD, around 1:15 a.m., police responded to the 300 block of South 17th Avenue for a report of a burglary in process.

When officers arrived, one person on scene had been shot by an unknown suspect(s). The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Before fleeing the scene, the suspect(s) stole jewelry and electronics. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call Hattiesburg Police Department 601-545-4971 or Metro CrimeStoppers 601-582-7867.
