PINE BELT (WDAM) - It is the Monday after Thanksgiving, and that means great deals and Christmas shopping all from the comfort of your own home.
Cyber Monday has grown in popularity over the past few years, and experts believe with improving technology, more shoppers will cash in coupons online rather than fighting in lines at stores.
Big companies like Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart compete for customers.
Some companies started offering discounts at the beginning of the month to increase sales.
Locally, Jeff Flathau, internet merchandiser at Flathau's Fine Foods, said they have been preparing for the day several weeks in advance.
The gourmet food maker sells to Amazon.com, Overstock.com as well as their own website.
Flathau, who has been in business over 20 years, said he expects Cyber Monday to be even better next year as it has in the past.
"Cyber Monday is a big day, and actually we're taking measures to increase that for next year by trying to get our web presence in a higher place than it is now and we're working on that, it's taking some time," Flathau said.
