PINE BELT (WDAM) -

Emergency crews are battling two separate grass fires in the Pine Belt.

In Forrest County, crews are on the scene of a grass fire off Morriston Road in Petal.

Officials said the fire started when wind blew a tree into a power line and knocked the power line to the ground.

Emergency management officials, along with Mississippi Highway Patrol, are battling a grass fire on Conway Road, just off Hwy 29 north of Runnelstown in Perry County.
