HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The Southern Mississippi women's basketball team opened up it's annual Thanksgiving Classic Friday morning with a 99-56 win over Alcorn State at Reed Green Coliseum.
The Lady Eagles got a huge performance from the energetic and explosive Brittany Dinkins. She paced the squad with 24 points. Brittny Norris had a solid day as well, pouring in 16 points along with a career-high six assists.
USM will face Louisiana Lafayette at 4 p.m. Saturday in the championship game. The Rajin Cajuns defeated Southeast Missouri State in overtime 82-78 in the other contest.
USM is now 4-1 on the year.
