LUMBERTON, MS (WDAM) -

Lumberton is going to the big one. Despite trailing at the half, the Panthers pulled through with a 50-48 overtime victory, advancing to the Class 1A state title game next week.

The Warriors held a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

Thanks to the rushing prowess of Dre Coleman, the Panthers were able to get on the board in the second. They went for the two-point conversion but failed to convert.

Nanih Waiya went into the half with a 7-6 lead.

While the first half was certainly slow offensively, the teams got it going in the second half.  The Warriors held a 28-20 lead at the end of the third. The game got even tighter in the fourth.

Coleman continued his rushing attack, breaking loose for a 39-yard score to tie the game at 34 with just under eight minutes left in the game.
