ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) -

A Jones County man has been charged with statutory rape of a teen, according to  the Ellisville Police Department.

Authorities charged 23-year-old Christian Donovan Shope with statutory rape of a 14-year-old girl.

The grandmother of the teen filed the report against Shope back in August when the incident occurred.

Shope who was believed to be in Florida since then, was detained after a traffic stop in Clarke County on Friday.

A judge set Shope's bond at $25,000.

He remains in the Jones County jail.
