Suspect sought in Home Bake robbery now in custody

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

A Hattiesburg man is behind bars in connection to a Hub City armed robbery.

Destin Moody, 22, of Hattiesburg was arrested Saturday at Northgate Inn in Hattiesburg in connection to the Nov. 17 Home Bake & Candy Shoppe armed robbery.

“Upon officer's arrival they met the victim who advised that a black male entered the business and grabbed them from behind threatening them with a knife and demanded money,” said Hattiesburg Police Lt. Jon Traxler. “The victim moved and the suspect opened the register but did not take anything.”

Moody was charged with one count of armed robbery, and booked into the Forrest County Jail.

Hattiesburg police released surveillance photos of the suspect fleeing the scene after the crime.
