Five arrested on drug charges in Jasper Co.

JASPER COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

At approximately 8:45 a.m. Friday, the Jasper County Sheriff's Department's Narcotics Division conducted a drug arrest/search warrant at Charlie Fail's residence located in Bay Springs.

The warrant was obtained after a lengthy investigation and from tips from several citizens of the suspected high drug traffic coming and going from the residence and the distribution and sale of illegal narcotics.

During the warrant several needle syringes loaded with what appeared to be Methamphetamine and several baggies containing what also appeared to be Methamphetamine were found inside the residence. Located also were several different types of narcotic equipment that was used for injecting and smoking Methamphetamine.

The following were arrested due to the warrant:

  • Charles Cyrus Fail - 2 Counts of Sale of a Controlled Substance, 1 Count of Conspiracy to Commit a Crime, 1 Count of Possession of a Controlled Substance, and 1 Count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
  • Alisa Renee Lovett - 1 Count of Sale of a Controlled Substance, 1 Count of Conspiracy to Commit a Crime 1 Count of Possession of a Controlled Substance and 1 Count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
  • Mindy Brooke Weaver - 1 Count of Possession of a Controlled Substance and 1 Count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
  • Michael Eugene Thigpen - 1 Count of Possession of a Controlled Substance and 1 Count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
  • Robert Jason Buckley - 1 Count of Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Distribute.
  • Edward Michael Chancellor - 1 Count of Possession of a Controlled Substance and 1 Count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Chancellor was also charged out of Jones County for Commercial Burglary and Petit Larceny.

The subjects are currently being held at the Jasper County Jail awaiting their initial appearance before Judge Marvin Jones.

The Bay Springs Police Department assisted the Jasper County Sheriff's Department in executing the warrants.

    A Hattiesburg man is behind bars after a Thursday night stabbing injured one in the Hub City.
