HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Mississippi Supreme Court presiding Justice Michael K. Randolph is expected to be released from Forrest General Hospital on Monday, Nov. 21, to recuperate at home after undergoing surgery.
Justice Randolph underwent open heart surgery Nov. 14 to repair two leaking heart valves.
"The surgery went fine. I spent a couple of days in ICU," Justice Randolph said on Friday. "They have me walking. I'm feeling fine now. The doctors and staff have been magnificent."
Justice Randolph and his wife, Kathy Webb Randolph, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, according to a news release issued by his office.
"My beautiful wife of 50 years is here with me. We are going to celebrate our anniversary here."
Justice Randolph, 69, of Hattiesburg, has served on the state's highest court for twelve and one-half years. He plans to return to his duties on the court in January.
