Bethany Christian Services commemorates November as National Adoption Month

Hattiesburg, MS., October 19, 2016 — The month of November is National Adoption month and Bethany is offering the opportunity for adoptees to participate in a support group.  The initial meeting will be held at the Bethany Christian Services of Hattiesburg office at 7 Professional Parkway, Suite 103 on November 29, 2016 at 6:00 p.m.  Participants will have the opportunity to listen to a speaker and share their stories about their adoption.  This service is free and open to the public.

Bethany is also launching our Post Adoption Services program which is geared to help families that have chosen to build their families through adoption.  This program allows trained therapists to work with families and children dealing with issues surrounding grief, loss, trauma, openness in adoption, attachment, identity and life stages of adoption, family dynamics, adoption adjustment and adoptees planning for birth family search.  For more information on Post Adoption Services please call 601-264-4984 for more information or to make an appointment.

    This past summer, Hattiesburg hosted the Levitt AMP Concert Series, but the concerts were due to a grant provided by the Levitt Foundation that was awarded to the University of Southern Mississippi School of Mass Communication and Journalism. They are up for the grant again, but currently need more votes to bring the concert series back.
