HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Hattiesburg Mayor Johnny DuPree is reacting to the election of Donald Trump as the nation's next president.

He said he's praying for the President-elect and hopes that he has a productive administration.

"I heard his victory speech last night (and) he said all the right things," said DuPree. "He's going to rebuild our infrastructure, he's going to try to put money intro building roads and bridges and infrastructure like water and sewer and those kinds of things. That's exciting, if he's able to do that and he has a Congress now that's in the same party as his, maybe we can get some things accomplished."

DuPree attended a ribbon-cutting for the new Safari Grill at the Hattiesburg Zoo Wednesday morning.
