JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - A Moselle man has been charged with aggravated assault.
On Tuesday Jones County deputies responded to a disturbance call on Will young Road in Ovett.
It was reported that Nelson McLain, 40, was on the property.
McLain left the address prior to the deputies arriving.
It was reported by Charles East, the owner of the residence, and father to McLain's wife, that when he returned to his home in the morning he found McLain in the house with a shotgun pointed at Mr. East.
East grabbed the gun and managed to get it from McLain, according to deputies. It was then McLain went to his truck and left the scene. East realized the shotgun he had grabbed from McLain was actually owned by East.
Jones County Sheriff's Investigators were notified of the incident and immediately began tracking McLain.
McLain's mother soon contacted the Sheriff's Department stating his truck was at her home in Moselle and he was believed to be in a wooded area nearby. Investigators were able to make contact with McLain by phone and talk him into coming back to the home.
McLain was charged with aggravated assault and burglary and will make his initial appearance Wednesday.
