HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The election is finally over. It’s been a long grueling campaign that added stress to everyone’s lives. Now that the election is over, what long term effects will the election have on the candidates?

“Hopefully you're preparing for the possibility that you may lose.” Said Clinical Therapist Ted Crawford

Many gathered around the computer to watch continuing coverage of the election. Crawford says social media can be stressful as well.

“I think it provides a lot of uncertainty. You have the added stress of verifying what you see. If I'm trying to go about certain task during the or during the night. I’m constantly being interrupted or constantly compelled to keep checking my phone, and keep checking the internet.” Said Crawford.

It's a process for each candidate on how they handle victory and how they handle defeat

"There's probably a lot of joy, but  it's just the beginning. Now I have the opportunity to do what I said I was going to do," said Crawford."It's important to get your feelings out, but you have to roll on or it's gonna eat at you."
