HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Open enrollment for health insurance began across America Tuesday.

Locally, the Mississippi Health Access Collaborative, also known as MHAC, is enrolling people in the Pine Belt.
The group helps applicants simplify the process by explaining what they're getting, making sure they make best decision for themselves and their family.

"If you are able to get downtown (Hattiesburg), we can offer assistance, especially with navigators through the federally facilitated marketplace and we provide unbiased information related to your personal health coverage,” said Willie Taylor, outreach coordinator, MS Health Access Collaborative.

MHAC is located at 301 West Pine Street.

There are enrollment sites all across south Mississippi at county health departments.
