HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The Arc of Southeast Mississippi 's 12th annual golf ball drop is Nov. 7, and Arc officials said many golf balls are still available for sale.

For $100, one can purchase a golf ball that will be dropped from a helicopter for a chance to win $20,000.

Only 1,000 balls will be sold and the proceeds from the event helps the organization with funds
"We've had several new participants come into the organization, so we are serving more families and more individuals,” ARC Administrative Assistant Emily Hodges said. “So, the importance is that we need that extra money to come in order to keep these doors open and keep these programs up and going and thriving like they are."

Winners will be announced immediately following the ball drop. One does not have to be present to win.
