HATTIESBURG, MS - Southern Miss volleyball secured a spot in the Conference USA Tournament on Sunday with a 3-1 win over North Texas.
The Golden Eagles had 13 service aces, their most since a 2006 match against Troy, and improved to 18-7 and 7-3 in the conference.
With four contests left, USM head coach Amanda Berkley has high aspirations for her team.
"Our challenge is to just keep playing with that same energy that we've had," Berkley said. "As long as we're playing with that energy, we put ourselves in good situations to win matches. Our goal is the same as it is every year, to win the conference championship and then get to the NCAA Tournament. We want to be the first team to make it to the Tournament from Southern Miss."
The Golden Eagles return to action on Friday when they host UAB.
