CAMP SHELBY, MS (WDAM) -

Governor Phil Bryant spoke about the presidential election while visiting Camp Shelby Thursday.

He was there to cut a ribbon to reopen the Mississippi Armed Forces Museum after a $2.3 million renovation.

He said his fellow Republicans in Mississippi are working hard to get out the vote on Nov. 8.

He said national polls are tightening and he's more confident than ever that GOP nominee Donald Trump will win.

"We'd like to have a good victory here, we feel good about Florida," Bryant said. "The numbers are looking better across the United States. Two weeks is a lifetime in a presidential election, we think we've got the wind at our back and we're going to carry this to victory."

Governor Bryant also attended a "Women for Trump" rally in Jackson Thursday.
