TRAFFIC ALERT: I-59 southbound lanes blocked in Lamar Co.

LAMAR COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

Traffic is delayed southbound on I-59 in Lamar County due to an incident involving two trucks.

According to Lamar County Fire Coordinator George Stevens, an 18-wheeler carrying liquid nitrogen jack-knifed and hit a log truck at mile marker 54, just before the Purvis exit.

Motorists are advised to use caution as traffic is proceeding, but on the shoulder.
