HATTIESBURG, MS - Former Southern Miss player Jalen Richard is making a name for himself in just his rookie season in the NFL. Just a season ago, Richard was bruising opponents in black and yellow and is now doing the same in black and silver for the Oakland Raiders with 648 all-purpose yards and a 75-yard touchdown run this season. Following the Raiders 33-16 win over Jacksonville on Sunday, Richard talked about what it takes it make it in the NFL.
"If this is really what you want to do when you get here," Richard said. "I think it hits a lot of guys, 'I know I want to be in the league but I don't know now.' It's competitive, everybody's good. And if you're capable, you'll be there. Just like I was capable of it and I knew in myself I was capable. I just had to prove it every day. It's a long road, but once you make it through it's all worth it."
