Bond set for Laurel murder suspect

LAUREL, MS (WDAM) -

Bond has been set for a Laurel 18-year-old charged with murder. 

Mekel Antwon Crumbly was charged with the murder of Tamerick Drummond, and booked into the Jones County jail just after midnight.

Crumbly made his initial appearance in court Wednesday morning where a judge set his bond at $250,000. 

This is Laurel's first homicide of the year, according to Laurel Chief of Police Tyrone Stewart.
