According to Hattiesburg Police Lt. Jon Traxler, Austin Jones, 21, was wanted for credit card fraud and officers spotted his vehicle pulling into the apartment complex.

"The suspect exited the vehicle and went inside an apartment and then fled into the attic," said Traxler. "While trying to apprehend the suspect he damaged a few other apartments but was taken into custody without any injuries."

After roughly two hours and being taken into custody, Jones was taken to a local hospital to be checked out due to the length of time he was inside the attic.

Jones will be booked into the Forrest County Jail after he is checked out at a local hospital.
