LPD: Suspect charged after attacking man with autism

LAUREL, MS (WDAM) -

A Laurel man has been charged after he was accused of attacking a man with autism, according to the Laurel Police Department. 

LPD responded to an assault call on October 11 near North 5th Avenue. 

The victim, a man with autism, reported that an unknown suspect attacked him at that location. 

The victim was transported to South Central Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. 

The suspect was later identified as Damion Sullivan, 22, and was charged with one count felonious infliction of physical pain or injury upon a vulnerable person. 

Sullivan turned himself into LPD on Friday and will make his initial appearance in Laurel Monday.
