Miss University of Southern Mississippi pageant date set

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

This is a news release from The University of Southern Mississippi

Six contestants will compete for the title of Miss University of Southern Mississippi in a pageant set for Saturday, Oct. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Mannoni Performing Arts Center on the Hattiesburg campus. The winner advances to the Miss Mississippi Pageant, to be held next summer.

General admission is $7; students with identification will be admitted for $5. Miss University of Southern Mississippi 2016 Macy Mitchell will perform at the event, along with Spirit of Southern. Former Miss Mississippi Chalie Ray and WDAM-TV’s Mike McDaniel will serve as co-hosts.

Miss University of Southern Mississippi Pageant contestants include:

*Kaelyn Wolfe, a senior communications major with a minor in Spanish from Picayune, Miss.

*Brooke Bullock, a sophomore broadcast journalism major with a minor in political science from Petal, Miss.

*Ashley Clarke, a junior public health and administration major with a minor in biology from Mobile, Ala.

*Caitlin Olson, a senior merchandising major with a psychology minor from Gulfport, Miss.

*Breanna Magee, a senior political science and legal studies major from Pearl, Miss.

*Erin Broadus, a freshman communications major with a minor in business from Hurley, Miss.

    Southern Miss looks to add a Conference USA tournament title to its regular season crown this week in Biloxi. The Golden Eagles (39-15, 23-6 C-USA) open tournament play against UAB on Wednesday at 4 p.m. inside MGM Park. "Certainly, this tournament it's no different than a regional atmosphere, that's what it's about,” said USM head coach Scott Berry.
