Area schools observe National School Lunch Week

PINE BELT (WDAM) - This week, schools across the country are observing National School Lunch Week, and area schools are joining the celebration.

Students at Moselle Elementary enjoyed a well-balanced meal each day, and they also learned about it in class.

Kids are taught that healthy food is necessary for a healthy life.

: "It's very important for the kids to eat well, when they come to us in the morning, they come in, they're greeted with a nice warm, well-balanced breakfast, giving them the fuel that they need to get through the day, so that they can get into our classes, pay attention and get what they need to academically and so it's of utmost importance,"  said Mark Brown, assistant principal at Moselle Elementary.

The meals served at the school includes vegetables, grains, fresh fruit, protein and dairy products.
