MISSISSIPPI (WDAM) - New Zika and West Nile case numbers have been reported for the Magnolia State.
The Mississippi Department of Health's latest report shows 28 people have been infected with West Nile in the state.
Hinds County still leads the state with seven West Nile cases.
Four Pine Belt counties, Forrest, Lamar, Marion and Perry, reported cases this year.
Lamar has also reported one case of Zika. There were 23 Zika cases reported in the state thus far.
Mississippi lags behind the national leader, New York.
The Empire State has reported 837 cases so far this year.
