5 vehicles stolen in Hub City; investigation ongoing

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

The Hattiesburg Police Department is investigating five vehicles that were stolen in the Hub City over the weekend.

  • 800 block of Longstreet Dr. – 2002 Mercedes S340
  • 500 block of Xavier St. – 2003 Honda 954 CBR (motorcycle)
  • 2502 West 4th St.- 2002 Ford Ranger (Red)
  • 79 Parkway Blvd. – 2014 Kia Optima( Blue)- recovered burned
  • 1000 Broadway Dr. – 2008 Ford Fusion (Red)

According to Hattiesburg Police Lt. Jon Traxler, investigators are unaware if they are connected.

  • 800 block of Longstreet Dr. – Key left in vehicle and unlocked
  • 500 block of Xavier St. – taken from front yard
  • 2502 West 4th St.- keys left in vehicle and unlocked
  • 79 Parkway Blvd. – keys lost at soccer field
  • 1000 Broadway Dr. – vehicle left running while person went inside store

    This past summer, Hattiesburg hosted the Levitt AMP Concert Series, but the concerts were due to a grant provided by the Levitt Foundation that was awarded to the University of Southern Mississippi School of Mass Communication and Journalism. They are up for the grant again, but currently need more votes to bring the concert series back.
