A woman was injured Friday morning after her car slid several yards on its driver's side.
Around 8 a.m., units from Sandersville Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene of the accident on Sandersville Heidelberg Road about four miles from Highway 11.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they found a passenger car with extensive damage to its front and driver's side.
According to reports, the vehicle rolled onto its driver's side, sliding for several yards before flipping back onto its wheels and coming to rest in the middle of the road. The adult female driver of the vehicle sustained what appeared to be minor to moderate injuries and was transported by EMServ ambulance to South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel for treatment. The road was partially blocked due to the positioning of the vehicle.
Rescue personnel on scene included Sandersville Volunteer Fire Department, EMServ Ambulance Service, Jones County Sheriff's Department, Sandersville Police Department and Jones County Public Information Officer Caleb Worrell.
Fire apparatus on scene included Sandersville Rescue.
