LAUREL, MS (WDAM) -

A Laurel man wanted in connection to a weekend shooting turned himself in Monday morning.

Antwune Washington, 35, turned himself in to Laurel police shortly before 11:00 a.m.

LPD began searching for Washington Saturday after responding to an apartment complex in regards to a shooting.

According to Laurel Police Investigator Kim Stewart, authorities responded to Shadowood Park apartments at 2600 Old Amy Road.

When they arrived at the scene, officers found the victim outside one of the apartments with a gunshot wound to the neck.

The victim, a man in his early 30s, was transported to South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, and then to Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

The victim was listed in critical condition.

Police say the shooting happened during an argument that took place outside of one of the apartments.

Washington has not been officially charged at this time.

This is a developing story. More information will be reported as it becomes available.
