JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

This is a press release from the Jones County Fire Council.

An adult male and a juvenile sustained very minor injuries after their vehicle rolled over on Saturday.

Late in the evening, units from Rustin and Powers Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the scene of the accident on Jeff Byrd Road near Highway 84 East. Upon arrival, firefighters found a pickup truck lying on its roof against a steep embankment to the side of the road.

Although the cause of the accident is unclear, reports stated that the truck climbed the embankment and swiped a tree before rolling onto its roof.

Both the adult male driver of the truck and the juvenile appeared to have sustained very minor injuries and refused transport to the hospital.

The road was partially blocked during rescue operations and completely shutdown during cleanup.

Rescue personnel on scene included Rustin and Powers Volunteer Fire Departments, EMServ Ambulance Service, Jones County Sheriff's Department and Jones County Public Information Officer Caleb Worrell.

Fire apparatus included Rustin Engine and Rescue. Firefighters also arrived in their personal vehicles.
