MARION COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - A corrections officer with the Marion-Walthall Regional Correctional Facility was arrested Thursday and charged with bringing contraband into the facility.

Cedeterius Jackson, 22, was arrested late Thursday and charged with introduction of an electronic device into a correctional facility.

According to Maj. Zack Guidroz, Jackson attempted to bring a cell phone and a charger into the facility.

"We aren't going to tolerate anything like this, and any person attempting to bring things into the facility and we will prosecute them to the fullest extent," said Guidroz.

Jackson was terminated from his position and incarcerated and the investigation is still ongoing according to Guidroz.
