HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

A Hattiesburg businessman has given an annual gift to help the Children's Center for Communication and Development (CCCD) at The University of Southern Mississippi.

Kevin Harrison of Heritage Vision Center presented the center with a check for $1,750 on Thursday.

The funds are proceeds from an annual sale held each summer.

"Every July, we give a portion of every pair of glasses that's sold to the Children's Center and so, we run that promotion through July and make that donation usually in September," said Harrison.

"Not only does Kevin help us with this Heritage sale, he serves on our advisory board. He helps with our families that are enrolled," said Sarah Case-Price, center director.

Harrison has supported the center for 12 years and he has provided funding for literacy materials, a computer, software and adaptive components and accessories for chairs and bicycles.
