JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

A Jones County man is behind bars after authorities said he was impersonating a law enforcement officer.

Anthony Busby, 40, was arrested Tuesday night by Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics agents and members of the Jones County Sheriff’s Department.

“We received a tip that he was going to homes, knocking on the door and presenting a Stateline Mississippi police identification card and he would go in and flush whatever drugs were in the house,” Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics Director Sam Owens said. “No matter how helpful that may seem to an outsider, it’s illegal and against the law.”

Busby was charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer and booked in the Jones County Jail where he bond was set at $500.

Following a school-record 55 wins and run that ended in an 8-7 loss in the NJCAA national championship, Jones County Junior College softball is eager to open the 2018 season on February 3. Coming that close to the school’s first national title serves as motivation enough for the Lady Bobcats. Regardless, expectations are always high for coach Chris Robinson’s teams – JCJC is a combined 105-12 the last two seasons.
