MARION COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - A Marion County man and his brother were convicted Friday for their roles in the 2014 murder of a 29-year-old man Bunker Hill man.
Jerry Page, otherwise known as "Jerry Abram," was found guilty by a Marion County jury for the murder of Ryan Cooper, whose body was discovered in a burned truck off East Reservoir Road.
Page was also found guilty of arson, simple assault of a law enforcement officer, and felon in possession of a firearm.
Anthony Abram, Pages' brother, was also found guilty of arson and accessory after the fact of murder.
According to 15th District, District Attorney Hal Kittrell, Anthony faces a maximum of 23 years on his charges.
"We commend the hard work of the Marion County Sheriff's Department, the Mississippi Bureau of Investigations and the State Fire Marshal," Kittrell said. "We also appreciate the cooperation of the witness who helped us prove this case."
Kittrell added that "it is our sincere hope that the convictions of these two men will allow the family of the victim some means of healing."
Page and Abram will be will be sentenced on Sept. 26 in Monticello.
