Sentencing for jail food theft conspirator scheduled for October

FORREST COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - A former Forrest County employee accused of stealing food from the county jail has his sentencing date pushed back for the fourth time.

Jerry Woodland's hearing is now scheduled for Oct. 12.

Woodland was the former jail cook.

He and former kitchen supervisor, Allen Haralson, pleaded guilty in December 2014 to conspiracy to commit theft.

Woodland's attorneys requested the delay citing Charles Bolton's federal tax evasion trial.

Bolton was over Woodland and Haralson when the items went missing.
